Annie Rob

Annie Rob, also known as 'Painting in the Rude', resides between sunny Los Angeles and gritty East London.  Born 1979 Annie grew up with a hippie for a mother and far more seriously tethered father. This mix sparked her provocative sense of humour and mischievous feminist wit. Having trained in graphic design at Brighton University and worked as a lead Creative Director in the advertising industry for many years, her love of typography and sign painting blossomed alongside a love of collecting all things vintage. Her vast collection of unloved pieces of art are rebirthed with painted typography and a sprinkling of humour.

Her statements are intended to be thought provoking reflections on being a woman in the male lead dog-eat-dog world of advertising. A lighthearted and often quite rude reflection reminding us to remember to laugh at the bigger picture.
